Amaltas by Sneha

How it started?
Ever since I grew up, I wanted to be a creator of things, of art that inspires one to love everything around them. Be it the things they wear and live in the whole day, their surroundings and every single moment they experience. Is this not something that we all really desire? A simple, beautiful and peaceful feeling, which we all dream of experiencing each and every day of our life and basking in the glory of it.
This is art to me.

The story of ‘Amaltas’
I always had this urge within me to create something that affects my life and the life of others in a positively impactful way. I was more often appreciated by my friends and family for the look I would put together for myself and others. Being inclined towards fashion and styling, I decided to begin my journey by creating modern and eclectic wear for women from organic handloom.
Nothing in my view has been more picturesque than the sight of a big old Amaltas tree with beautiful yellow flowers spread across the floor in my backyard. I always wanted my label to reflect the person I am, my idea of art and what I expect it to be, something very natural, earthy and close to mother earth. One that brings back my childhood nostalgia and this is precisely how Amaltas happened. Amaltas by Sneha is a brand which celebrates every season with its earthy hues and feminine persona. Handpicked organic fabrics infused with a tinge of love is what Amaltas brings to you- The modern contemporary woman who likes to remain connected to the indianness and at the same time rise into her arena with glorifying heights.

Why handloom?
I am blessed to be part of a country which embraces art in multiple forms across regions. Every art has a story to tell, which I desire to reflect in every piece of deign I create. My intention is to change our perspective towards Indian handloom into something more modern and rooted at the same time, something which is fun to style in different ways for diverse age groups of modern women.
We humans have already depleted our mother earth of its vital elements. It’s our turn now to replenish all that we have destroyed and restore the balance of nature by adopting a sustainable and eco-friendly living.

Conclusion
With this, I would like to put a halt to this piece of writing. Also, do drop by and show some love to the pieces I curated and many masterpieces on their way.

Until we meet next time. Till then, happy reading J

The dampness and the green

To blend with nature is magnificent! This is something I'm quite into ever since I am here on the campus. Nature in one of its most beautiful forms. And that was the best realized the day I had this shoot.

It was an early morning, sometime around 6:30. I had never been used to waking up so early after coming down to this place. Especially after having long sleepless nights, you need some hours of good sleep  in the morning before your class begins the next day :P

However the shoot was well planned in advance, almost a week back. Amartya and I, both of us have this thing for shoots and believe me he is really good in his job. He is, actually :D

I couldn't wait for the day to come. Each day would bring me some joy and excitement for the shoot. I thought it would be just so perfect to plan it in the wee hours of morning. And yes, it was as beautiful as I had thought, or just more than that.

The morning was quite and serene. All one could hear was the voice of the calm blowing air and the chirping of birds. The hill (as can be seen in one of the pictures)  was covered with little plants and moss that looked so clean and fresh. The dew drops covered their leaves and  looked no less than some tiny precious pearls. One could feel the drops drizzling over in the vicinity of the hill.

It felt so refreshing and naturally pleasing to see the green grass and bush make their way on the ground, where ever they could find a place.

The campus offered such a picturesque sight to shoot, and truly stood by its tag 'God's own Kampus'.

Writing about my idea behind the attire, I had quite a liking to this white blouse ever since I got it. I love its flow when worn. To me, its the best ever thing I had that can be teamed up with a variety of stuff in my wardrobe. To name a few, I had earlier tried the yellow-white-indigo blue combination in one of the earlier posts-Pocket full of sunshine. Remember?? and the combination worked out really well.

Carrying forward  my crush for this blouse, I tried working it out with this Black tapered trouser. To my surprise it looked amazingly fab. I teamed it up with this butterfly neckpiece and the butterfly ring ,I so adore <3

Ahh, with those black heels with the butterfly bow, make it all a perfect combination.

The orange color on the nails, little pink flower, the green leaves  look visually appealing and interesting. I couldn't resist using them in a lot many pictures to follow.

Have a look at some of the pictures I find apt for the post. Hope you like them too :)

something like Nostalgia

I had always wanted to visit a new place ever since I had finished my college. A place worth living in, not mere existing. Somewhere I  could gather new experiences from and where my heart and soul would find peace. Amidst this entire feeling I had never thought it would be such a not-that-easy thing for me to leave this place, my family, my home.

How I have spent all these years of my life growing up here. When I was a kid, how was I so reluctant going to school each day and the way my mother used to pull me out from under the bed, for I had thought it was the safest place for me to hide :p How chasing butterflies and playing with the dolls seemed such a pleasure. Collecting a variety of stuff was my hobby and the way I used to decorate my room with all such stuff and tag them as 'My Special Things'. How each cloud in the sky looked like something to me and how I would love to sit on the top of the terrace, with my cousins, and take a sip of hot coffee when it was drizzling. How each moment, sad or happy, I still remember and shall always be there in the cobwebs of my memory.

And now when it's the time I'm leaving this place I feel like staying here longer, spending more time with my family and people, do for them all those things we had been thinking of doing together and share many more moments of bliss with them.

For the past few days I have been seeing a number of people, my dear ones, who have, in some way or the other, contributed to the making of my life. These warm rendezvous have made me realise that I don't have anything to be sad about or miss but I've with me lots of their memories to cherish throughout my life.

Summer love

This floral dress has been one of my favorites  for the summer. Ever since I got it, I had wanted to accessorize it the right way and flaunt the look.

I did that in two ways. The first one, with the black colored belt and the grey ballerinas. And I'm also wearing those off-white colored round sunglasses that give it a summery look in all.

The second one, with the bright yellow belt and the yellow ballerinas, of course, looks very colorful and girly. The same can be tried in different shades of peach or orange, teal or even turquoise blue, to make it look equally happening.

The dress, altogether looks gorgeous and is very comfortable and affordable.

Pocket full of SUNSHINE

Hi everyone!

Past few days have been such a pleasure to me. I read the book 'A Thousand Splendid Suns'  by Khaled Hosseini. I'm thrilled and excited at the same to have been reading it. The book brings such a wave of emotions and plight of the women in Afghanistan. More influencing feature was that the protagonist is a female, that in itself infused a lot of optimism to fight against the wrong and keep going successfully in adverse circumstances as well. :)

Coming to the post, I would like to add that this shoot took just a few minutes. As soon as my cousin arrived to see me this mid February, the first thing I did was to hand over the camera to her and put up my views as to how I wanted the pictures should come. The time was perfect, exactly when the sun was at the verge of setting down and I wanted to spare every single second and capture as many good pictures as  I can, for I had thought the little sunlight and its effects would go perfect with the pictures.

I truly adore those yellow jeans. Luckily one day, while I was just browsing through some clothes in a mall, I came across this polka dotted navy blue cardigan.

The cardigan with those balloon sleeves and two side pockets with a bow on each looked so feminine to me. Also the polka dots made it look very fashionable. Color blocking, which is a bold and fun way to dress, has been such a huge trend and so I couldn't resist myself trying it for once. I've gone with the 'Separate' technique to styling a color blocked outfit which is mixing garments of contrasting colors by teaming that navy blue, polka dotted cardigan up with the those yellow jeans. Also to complete the look I've used a neutral shade, white. I got a short sleeves white blouse so that it looks gorgeous and looks visually uneventful in relation to the rest of the outfit.

I had just wished the combination works well and hopefully the pictures were satisfactory. :)

The post is titled so.Thanks to my friends on FB to have come up with a comment like this. I liked it and could not come up with any other title better than this :D

Hope you like the post and the pictures as well.

Shades of white.

I had always wanted to team up my skirt, I got some time before, with something chic and something that  goes well with the skirt. That which balances the length of the skirt and all together looks classy too. Something that would be just so perfect for a day outing this summer.

I could not think of any other thing than a plain, white cotton shirt that works for all. The shirt looks chic and so elegant and at the same counts in the short length and checked patterns of the skirt too. A perfect attire for summer, worth trying hands on.

As far as the accessories are concerned I'm wearing those wayfarer sunglasses I borrowed from my sister, which further adds to the attire. And no doubt, the black toe pumps accentuate the look. The brooch, of course, marks a tinge of softness to the shirt with the rolled up sleeves.

My inner self & I

Fashion to me is something that portrays your inner self. It’s about how you feel the moment is. I love experimenting and living the moments. My idea of dressing up depends a lot on my inner state of mind. I would love to wear a salwaar kameez and flaunt an Indian look or the next I may prefer a minimal chic dress. I love playing with colors and textures. How well the nature has bestowed us with  its beauty in various natural forms and how the hues of the rainbow delight me.

Fashion in art. An art which when not worked and experimented upon loses its luster. Therefore I truly believe that one should keep experimenting with their dresses, the accessories, the looks, the hair or the make up as long as it adds to their growth, as long as it makes them feel comfortable and confident.

It matters the most if it makes you feel  BEAUTIFUL  and in some way makes you feel happy too J
